Mari Carr knows how to write beautiful characters with such flare and grace. It’s unbelievable watching each of the men and women come alive and find their love.  ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

Blurb:
A Rock Star Bodyguard Romance

He’ll risk everything to keep her.

He’s going from military hero to bodyguard? Well, that might not be so bad. The money will be good anyway. But then Fergus meets the woman he’s hired to protect. A former teen pop star? Please God, no.

After being taken advantage of repeatedly through her career, the music diva is used to pushing people away. But her sexy bodyguard’s need for control is eventually impossible to resist. Who is she to fight when he insists on being much closer than arm’s length?

And keeping the sexy hero close isn’t such a bad idea, considering she’s got a stalker.

Well, Mari Carr wrote a heroine that I didn’t like very much, in the beginning. But, she did grow on me and I came to respect her, her music and her opinions. And, as for Fergus … he’s a Collin’s … do I need to say anything else?

Like I said, Aubrey took a little getting used to. She was surly, didn’t trust anyone, and, basically, had a chip on her shoulder. But, she had her reasons and they were good ones. It’s hard trying to get back everything that she lost and even harder to trust anyone when it was her own mother that betrayed her. With a stalker on the lose injuring anyone who seems to piss her off, she can’t help but try to change her attitude and finally listen to Fergus. But, having him so close 24/7, playing Truth or Dare, just confiding in him has her heart and her libido up in flames.

Fergus can’t believe that his first job is with a pop star on tour. But, he’s serious about protecting her, finding out who her stalker is, and he will stop at nothing to do that. He’ll answer to Rottweiler, he’ll play Truth or Dare, he’ll push his limits just to find out what her hard limits are. But, through it all, he’ll keep her safe from everyone, including her mother.
With the help of the Collins Clan, he’s able to see just what he has in Aubrey. He also found out that the Collins Curse is real – when they fall, they fall hard and fast. Lucky for him that he had his Pop Pop to guide him, his Mom and Dad’s to show him the right path and his cousins to always have his back. But, Aubrey was the one to get the most out of this deal – she got to find a real family that won’t use you, that will support you and love you, no matter what.

What a wonderful story July Flames was. It was, as usual, truly heartwarming. The Collins’ know when to circle the wagons, when to show someone that they are loved and cared about. And Mari Carr knows how to write these beautiful characters with such flare and grace. It’s unbelievable watching each of the men and women come alive and find their love. She has a way with words, with bringing out the best and worst in people that just keeps you interested in her stories. I can’t wait to see who is next to fall to the curse. Bring on August!
