The conclusion to the White Lies Duet was riveting and intriguing. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures
Blurb:
The second and final book in the sexy and tantalizing White Lies Duet from New York Times Bestselling Author Lisa Renee Jones.
Nick “Tiger” Rogers, sought out Faith Winter with revenge as his agenda. He made her his obsession. He seduced her. He made her want him. He made here trust him. And then he trusted her. He wanted her. He loved her.
But now, the lies will be exposed, the truth revealed.
Hearts will be broken. Lives shattered.
Nick. Faith.
The truth. The passion.
The SHAMELESS obsession.
The conclusion to the White Lies Duet was riveting and intriguing. Nick was sweet, romantic, dominant and supportive. Faith found her true inner-self and trusted Nick to guide her in the right direction.
Nick and Faith both have issues with their parents. Nick has come to terms with his … Faith is still having issues. She can’t face the truth about either of them, she can’t get the doubts out of her head. She has come to trust Nick to be there for her but still has concerns. She can still see a little bit of the uneasiness in his eyes, even when he tells her that he loves her. But, can she trust her Uncle Bill? There was a reason why there was the fall-out between the brothers. She knows she must confront the truth, confront him and deal with the wounds that he always opens.
Nick is totally committed to Faith, her art and her want to keep the Winery. There is one missing piece to his puzzle and then he will be able to tell her everything. He asks for her trust, he asks for her love and he knows that it’s not fair. She knows that there is something that he is keeping from her but knows that he will reveal it in time. The truth comes out just as everything is falling into place for him. He finally has what he needs to convince her of his love … but … now, he doesn’t have her.
If you followed the Inside Out Series, you will be happy to see a lot of Chris and Sarah Merit and the Allure Gallery. They do play a prominent role with Faith and Nick. So does the art world. I was a little dissatisfied with the Macom storyline. I would have loved to have seen more of a conflict. But, I loved how Faith handled the situation. I hated that she didn’t confront Nick with what she learned but loved the way Nick kept his promise and didn’t let her go.
Lisa Renee Jones definitely has a way of weaving a story and keeping her readers invested in it. Normally, I would be totally blown-away with the twists and turns she usually puts into her stories. I looked forward to the showdown with Macom and was a little saddened that there wasn’t more behind that. And, I wasn’t surprised by who was behind the problems at the winery. I wasn’t disappointed in the story at all but felt that there was something missing. I would really love to find out Beck’s story and Abel definitely needs a story … he was totally amusing and added just the right touch of humor to a very serious and fascinating story.
