Managed is one of those books that you can’t help but feel every bit of emotion, celebrate every little success, and be present in each and every moment in these characters lives because the author’s words puts you in the middle of it all. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures
Description:
It started off as a battle of wits. Me: the ordinary girl with a big mouth against Him: the sexy bastard with a big…ego.
I thought I’d hit the jackpot when I was upgraded to first class on my flight to London.
That is until HE sat next to me. Gabriel Scott: handsome as sin, cold as ice. Nothing and no one gets to him. Ever. He’s a legend in his own right, the manager of the biggest rock band in the world, and an arrogant ass who looks down his nose at me.
I thought I’d give him hell for one, long flight. I didn’t expect to like him. I didn’t expect to want him. But the biggest surprise? He wants me too. Only in a way I didn’t see coming.
If I accept his proposal, I leave myself open to falling for the one man I can’t manage. But I’m tempted to say yes. Because the real man beneath those perfect suits and that cool façade just might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And I just might be the only one who can melt the ice around his heart.
Let the battle begin…

Gabriel “Scotty” Scott is 29 going on 60; as a successful manager to one of rock’s biggest bands Scotty’s demeanor and attitude brokers no argument. He gets things done and he doesn’t care what anyone thinks about the way he does it. He’s fastidious and exacting and he makes no apologies for it, so when the extra seat he’s paid for in first class contains a woman who won’t stop talking and lights up even the darkest days, he believes it will be the longest flight of his life. What he doesn’t know is that it will be the flight that changes his life forever because Sophie Darling will be the woman he can never forget.
I absolutely loved the banter between these two from the start; it was witty, it was sexy, it was crazy and at times it was just ludicrous, but it always had meaning. This isn’t an author who adds words to make a word count, her words have meaning and every line in this book is important. From the moment Sophie labels the dour Gabriel, Sunshine and he labels her Chatty Girl, the reader knows these are two people who are going to spend a lot of time discussing, chatting, and arguing and that all of that is the foreplay that will lead to more. It really is hard to define their relationship for the majority of this book; they are friendly, but I don’t know if I can call them friends, there is attraction, but it isn’t acted on for a couple of reasons, and they are co-workers and while he owns part of the business he is not her boss. I like that there is a grand build up between them, that because of their self imposed reasons for not being physical with one another they are forced to really get to know one another thus letting the reader really get into their heads.
Managed is a smart, witty, sensual and extremely well written story of loss, life, and love and if you aren’t reading author Kristen Callihan you are absolutely missing out one of my favorite new to me authors of 2016.
I’m looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Slick
