These two were proof that opposites attract… dirty and gritty and oh so good! ~ Leigh, Guilty Pleasures
Description:
Sparks fly when a society belle and a biker with a troubled past get down and dirty in the Big Easy. Maisey Yates turns up the heat in the sizzling finale of a series co-written with Megan Crane, Rachael Johns, and Jackie Ashenden.
Micah Carpenter hates New Orleans. Hell, after ten years he no longer has much affection for the Deacons of Bourbon Street motorcycle club, either. But when the brotherhood calls, Micah answers. Joining the hunt for their mentor’s killer, he crosses paths with a Southern belle who exudes class—and sex appeal. Micah knows better than to mess with ice princesses: No matter how hot things get, they never melt. And yet he can’t stop himself from offering her a taste of the wrong side of the tracks.
Sarah Delacroix understands that reputation is everything. The daughter of a prominent family rocked by scandal, she’s desperate to restore their good name. Micah’s exactly the kind of man she should be avoiding. Behind his sleek and sophisticated exterior beats the heart of a predator—and she knows it. But, like the tattoos beneath his tailored suit, his rough edges are irresistible. And all too soon Sarah finds him getting under her skin . . . and living out every one of her hottest fantasies.

While the Deacon’s of Bourbon Street was a fantastic series, I think this one may have been my favorite because of how much I loved Prince.
In each of the other books, Prince was made out to be the prima donna of the bunch, with his heart not in the club. The other members seemed to almost resent the fact that he was there, and out of all the brothers, he seemed to fit the role of a biker the least. So, it was with almost trepidation that I started this book, trying to figure out if the author was going to redeem Micah “Prince” Carpenter in my eyes as a sexy leading man character.
And boy, did she ever!
While the other brothers were very “what you see is what you get” type of men, Micah was a chameleon. He could be the man who cleaned up in a business suit, and with equal ease, he could be the tattooed biker. He was dirty and sexy with barely veiled civility that was an immense turn-on, and yet at the same time, I felt sorry for a man that never felt that he fit anywhere. In the outside world, he was the business man that women would turn to in order to fulfill a bad-boy fantasy. But in the world of the MC, he was the guy that wanted more than he felt he deserved, Nice, rich, civilized possessions. And Sarah Delacriox represented all of these things he never had but always wanted to possess.
Sarah was a surprise for me. She was the naive New Orleans debutante that had never seen the seedier side of the city, and yet, she wasn’t as meek or as mild as I assumed she would be. She had backbone and guts to try to shield her loved ones from the scandal that seemed to be brewing and at the same time, stand up to the big, bad biker that had now imposed himself in her life.
These two were proof that opposites attract. And for all of the civility that these two outwardly portrayed, the sex between them was dirty and gritty and oh so good.
Throw into this the conclusion of the overarching story regarding the murder of their past MC President, Priest, and you have one amazing conclusion to a terrific series. It had everything I could look for in a book: interesting storyline, great characters, snappy dialogue and enough hot sex to make me wish it wouldn’t end.
This series was amazing and I would highly recommend it. But start from the beginning. You don’t want to miss any of these guys!

This series, and this story in particular, was written with heart, with soul and with tremendous skill. ~ Afrodyt, Guilty Pleasures
Micah “Prince” Carpenter wants to go back to his life in San Francisco. He’s built a successfully life for himself during his exile. Unlike his MC brothers, Ajax, Cash and Blue, Prince doesn’t long for the glory days of the Deacons dominance. He just wants to avenge the death of their president, Priest, and “get the hell out of Dodge.” Well the longer he’s on Bourbon Street the more his loyalties are being stretched to their limits along with his patience. Prince is a rough, cantankerous, blunt and unpredictable asshole. He gets assigned to investigate a mansion in the French Quarter that’s part of the Deacons inheritance and clashes with Sarah, who doesn’t know that her family no longer owns it.
Sarah Delacroix is sick and tired of the charade of her southern belle debutant, upper crust society existence. She dumped her philandering fiancé and cancelled her wedding despite the financial loss and social ridicule, because she refused to live a life where she had to trade in her dignity while her husband slept around. Sarah decides to restore the mansion in the French Quarter that her family he owned for generations but had been boarded since Katrina, to throw a Christmas party. It’s a pretty rude awakening when she walks into the dusty mansion and finds a well dressed, sexy, but intimidating man claiming ownership of her home. Needless to say sparks started flying everywhere.
This story is absolutely exquisite. I love Prince and Sarah together. The sex is scorching hot, I mean the kind that makes you have to go change your panties, it’s so good. The contrast between Sarah’s inexperience and Prince’s blunt force honesty made for a perfect match. I love how Sarah is soft and refined but also incredibly strong and formidable. She’s no pushover but she likes to surrender to Prince and allow him to devour her completely.
Kudos, Maisey Yates, for running a strong anchor leg for the Deacons of Bourbon Street. I enjoy a good MC series and the romance genre is full of them on the heels of the popularity of Sons of Anarchy, but many that I’ve read fall short of the perfect balance that Megan, Rachel, Jackie and Maisey have done here. This series, and this story in particular, was written with heart, with soul and with tremendous skill because the characters and the world stayed consistent over all four novels. I highly recommend all four books. Read them in order and read them more than once. I know I will. Five enthusiastic stars!
Thanks ladies for the two-fer
