Stroked was fun, sassy and very, very sexy but there was also a great love story to it and I loved this couple immensely. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

I swear from the minute I started this book Billy Squire was singing in my head and he pretty muchatruegemaward did not let up throughout the whole thing, so just to make sure you’ll get the same earworm here you go…

Stroke me, stroke me
Could be a winner boy you move mighty well
Stroke me, stroke me (stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
You got your number down
Stroke me, stroke me
Say you’re a winner but babe, you’re just a sinner now

and considering the hero is an Olympic champion with no gold, only silver and competing in his last Olympics at age 32 the lyrics have a whole lot of meaning for a whole lot of different reasons. I enjoyed Stroked by Meghan Quinn quite a lot actually and while I’m more of an X-Game fan myself; I do love the swimming and diving events in the Summer Olympics. This book was fun, sassy and very, very sexy but there was also a great love story to it and I loved this couple immensely.

Reese King, three time Olympic champion who is best known for choking in events and only ever getting a silver medal. Dubbed the “Silver Stroke” by media everywhere, Reese has the reputation as a bad boy who throws tantrums during interviews, but underneath he is generous, giving and driven. He is also cocky and gorgeous and he knows it. Hoping to qualify for the Olympic team for the 4th time at age 32, Reese is caught up playing “boyfriend” to a reality TV princess, one he really doesn’t like at all. Thinking about his career after swimming, he signed up for the gig but when he meets his and his co-star’s new assistant he is mesmerized by her and knows things are going to get very complicated.

Paisley Macarro can’t believe how far she has fallen to accept the hellacious job of being reality star Bellini Chambers assistant; the woman is awful and so self centered but after the incident that cost her the job she loved this is what she must do in order to get back into the production side of the business. Finding out she is also Reese King’s assistant is a bonus, but she knows she must keep her lust for him under wraps because she needs this job and nothing and no one is going to stand in her way.

While both Reese and Paisley were physically attracted to one another from the start, I loved that they quickly became enamored with everything about one another. They really peeled back each other layers and discovered the amazing people underneath. Yes, they were hot for one another and yes, there were some fantastically sexy scenes, but the friendship and feelings they both developed for one another were equally important or dare I say even more important. They respected one another, they realized how important each other’s careers were to them and they supported each other fully.

With this book taking place during the filming of a reality TV show, it was quite busy and guys I am so not a reality TV person and people like Bellini Chambers make my skin crawl and while I understand she was necessary, I could have done without so much of her especially since a lot of her inner dialog was repetitive. I did like that this book was told in first person from three points of view; Reese, Paisley, and Bellini and to be honest, I would have loved to see a bit of Bellini’s dog’s point of view; that would have been a hoot.

For the most part Stroked was a fun, interesting and crazy look at the world of reality television but with the excitement of the Olympics as a bonus and in it all two very deserving people found one another and love.
