Wedding planner Bailey Bliss always knew she would plan her first love’s wedding. She just assumed she’d be the bride walking down the aisle to him. But it seems life has a sense of humor. Just when she thinks everything has fallen into place after her ex moves back to the Bay area, his gorgeous fiancée hires her to plan their Pinterest-worthy destination wedding.
Can you say plot twist?
The smart thing to do would be to cancel the contract. Unfortunately, the hopeless romantic, AKA glutton for punishment, in her can’t do that. She needs to see the man who she’s pined two decades for say ‘I do’ to someone else with her own eyes. But that doesn’t mean she has to witness the train wreck of her love life solo.
Professional plus-one Cole Crawford isn’t looking for happily ever after. Moonlighting as a date for hire is the totality of his social life. He doesn’t have any room for romance unless he’s getting paid for it. The problem is he has a no-intimacy policy in his professional life. That, combined with no time for a personal life, equals him living a monk-life existence.
No one has ever tempted him to break his rule except for the stunning green-eyed wedding planner who has become a fixture in his dreams, both waking and sleeping. When a twist of fate leaves his dream girl in need of his services, he knows the right thing to do would be to keep things professional. But that’s easier said than done when the wrong thing feels so right.
Author’s note: The Plus One Professional is a lust-at-first-sight, he falls first, reverse age-gap, fake relationship, one-bed, contemporary rom-com.
The Plus One Profession was cute, but I felt the character and plot development was lacking. ~ Sharon – Simply Love Books
The Plus One Professional is an age-gag story between a 38 year old Wedding Planner and a 26 year old construction worker who moonlights as a professional plus one with no hanky-panky involved (IYKYK). I enjoyed this book and I loved the hero, Cole who despite his young age was super responsible and dedicated to his ill, widowed sister and her three children. Bailey on the other hand seemed a tad immature especially letting her on and off again boyfriend (mostly off for the last few years) string her along while lamenting the fact she’ll never have the family she’s always wanted. There were parts of this story that I loved but at times it seemed to drag.
Bailey has noticed they nice looking man at many of the weddings she and her sisters company have planned. He is always with a different woman so when one of her friends suggests he might be an escort she can’t help but be curious about him. When they get locked in together at one of her weddings it’s obvious they both are intrigued.
I enjoyed this book but honestly I didn’t feel the chemistry between them. Bailey was still too hung up on her ex despite the fact she and her sisters are planning their quickie wedding and Cole doesn’t share with her anything going on in his life. For me they had too many ups and downs and not enough quality time to really sell their relationship. That said, I didn’t hate them together and I am happy for them but I wanted more depth like the house being restored and the plans for it would have been super interesting much more than a lot of stuff that went on in this book.
