Love can be an adventure . . .

Anna Moore didn't just wake up one day and decide to go on an adventure, so how in the world did she end up racing against the clock to prove that her dad is innocent of stealing a million-dollar necklace? The answer would be her bossy big sister Wendy: seven months pregnant and on bed rest, but desperate to clear their dad's name.

Joining her on her unexpected quest is the sexy and enigmatic Owen Harris. His goal? To prove that Anna's dad is guilty as hell and return the lost jewellery back to its rightful owner - his elderly great aunt.

Forced to work together despite their mutual animosity, Anna and Owen find themselves on a scavenger hunt for clues to the past (with Wendy remotely along for the ride via an earbud). As they start to piece together what really happened to the necklace, they also start to learn more about themselves . . . and the inexplicable and explosive chemistry between them that they can no longer ignore.

I don’t have to think twice when it comes to a Jill Shalvis book because I know she writes stories that are a good blend of humor, wit, lovable characters and a bit of drama. ~ Amanda – Simply Love Books

I have to hand it to Jill Shalvis for making me laugh and enjoy myself while I was reading her upcoming story The Summer Escape. The story is about two people that have to work together in order to find a missing ruby necklace and rare coins that were burgled a decade ago. Anna Moore is an investigator and her father is under suspicion for the crime. Owen Harris wants her to explain how she is in possession of a coin that is his great Aunt’s property. He thinks her father did the crime and now she wants to clear his name. They both concede to keep each other in the loop and try to find the truth, while trying hard to fight the chemistry and attraction they have for one another.

I don’t have to think twice when it comes to a Jill Shalvis book because I know she writes stories that are a good blend of humor, wit, lovable characters and a bit of drama. The main character’s adventure sends them on a hunt, and as the get closer to the truth, things heat up between Anna and Owen. Both are keeping things casual with an end to things when the case is over, but the danger makes them realize that this thing between them could be the real deal. There is an added bonus of Anna’s sister Wendy and her pregnancy with triplets, that is funny, and heartwarming to see how much they care for one another. I loved this story because of the banter between Anna, Owen and Wendy, the tension she creates with their attraction for one another and the mystery of a whodunit. A definite must-read for some summer fun.
