“I want to learn what it’s like to love se* and I want to pay you for the research.”
Whoa, whoa…what?
The first part of that sentence was a dream come true for a guy. The second part is the one that left me shocked and speechless.
Two things I didn’t think were possible since I’m a bartender. I’ve heard some stories, man.
The pint sized Naomi Taylor, my adorable new neighbor, has my full and undivided attention. She seems to think since I’ve had my fair share of relationships, I’d be the perfect one to give her lessons on the steamy side of life.
Then she shows up at my front door wearing her pink raincoat and very little else…
One lesson turns into five and I’m looking forward to class every night.
Now my star student has a job offer 600 miles away and I have to find a way to convince her to take a chance on me—and us—without a lesson plan.
Author Note: Colder & Naomi's story is an insta-love, super spicy short-ish novel with no cheating and a very happily ever after.
Tropes: Teacher and Student, Forced Proximity, Hot Neighbor, InstaLove, He Falls First, He Falls Hard, Seriously...the guy is all into the girl in this book! Swoons aplenty. O's aplenty.
Player for Hire is a wonderful start to a new series, I’m looking forward to more stories from The Heights. ~ Sharon – Simply Love Books
Writing duo Taryn Quinn starts their new series, The Heights, out on a high note with Player for Hire. This insta-love story was equal parts sweet, fun, and steamy.
After being downsized from her technical writing job, Naomi left Chicago and moved back to upstate New York and is sharing an apartment in The Heights with her former college roommate. With two months of severance, she’s determined to find a new job, but at the urging of her friend Iona, she starts to work on a book she started years ago. The problem is Naomi can’t seem to get the spicy love scenes written, but her new neighbor Colder makes it known he’s happy to help her act those scenes out.
I loved both characters Naomi was a bit neurotic, but not overly so and with the turmoil in her life it was no wonder but between Iona and Colder she begins to believe she can finish her book. With Colder’s sensual, s*xy lessons, Naomi soon begins to understand and realize just how good intimate times can be.
Colder is a fun loving guy who has enjoyed the ladies, but the minute he meets Naomi in the elevator of his building he is a smitten kitten. I appreciated how patient he was with all of Naomi’s questions and the fact he answered her honestly. I adored that he supported her writing and encouraged her to go for her dreams. As a bartender he’s learned to read people and reading Naomi is his new favorite thing.
I loved the environment of The Heights and the bar across the street where Colder worked. The secondary characters were equally interesting.
A wonderful start to a new series, I’m looking forward to more stores from The Heights.
