What happens when happily ever after...isn't?

Chloe Preston has it all. She's got an amazing group of friends, a rabid fan base for her romance novels, and she's married to her college sweetheart. Except, these days, his heart doesn't seem so sweet. He also doesn't seem to understand her career...or maybe her at all.

Teddy Preston didn't start out as a stuffy suit. It just sort of happened, somewhere between his MBA and his big promotion and their failed attempts at starting a family. But he's always had Chloe by his side, making everything fun. From the time they met on the soccer field, Teddy and Chloe have been inseparable. Only Teddy hasn't kicked a goal in a long time and Chloe seems sort of unhappy.

Maybe all relationships are like house plants, and the leaves all eventually wither up. That's normal, right? Teddy struggles to revive the roots of their marriage while Chloe considers pruning the entire thing. If only they could find a middle ground.

In an attempt to understand his wife, Teddy stumbles upon one of her books. Will those steamy pages provide the inspiration Teddy needs or will this glimpse into his wife's true calling be a red card for their match?

As Chloe and Teddy look for lasting love, they navigate meddling friends, deep misunderstandings, and failed attempts at horticulture. Liquid Courage is the second book of the Bridges and Bitters series. If you love found family, hilarious antics, and off-the-charts heat, you'll devour these sexy romantic comedies.

Liquid Courage was a very realistic story of a marriage in crisis and the way they navigated their way back to each other wasn’t always pretty, but it was effective. I truly loved this book. ~ Sharon – Simply Love Books

I’m giving this one 5 stars, there aren’t enough marriage/relationship in crisis books and there should be because I believe they can be a great tool to help readers look at their own lives and learn how to navigate when problems come around and let’s face it every relationship has issues.  I felt Ms. Davis did a fantastic job of handling infertility, career changes, lifestyle changes, and couples forgetting to use active communication and listening to their partner. Most of all she showed that characters can have problems but for the most part remain civil and actively work on solving them with help from a professional. Seriously, I applaud this author for writing a serious, emotional, yet hopeful and uplifting story.

I felt this story was so good in that Chloe and Teddy met and fell in love in college, both soccer athletes they loved their sport but for Teddy it meant getting an education he so desperately wanted. Chloe and Teddy had things in common, but they grew up in very different ways which honestly was the root of their problems. I’m not going to go into all of that because I want readers for discover it as the book goes along but I will say that both of them did a lot of soul searching throughout this book. One thing that was evident is they still cared and loved each other deeply, they had just moved apart and the chasm grew so large they didn’t know how to get back to the way they were.

Once again the FOOF women were a source of comfort, a sounding board, and support for Chloe and honestly they helped Teddy as well because they wanted to see their friend happy and whole.

Liquid Courage was a very realistic story of a marriage in crisis and the way they navigated their way back to each other wasn’t always pretty, but it was effective. I truly loved this book.
