I loved Dirty Player; the characters had depth, their relationship was meant to be, and the ending perfection. ~ Sharon – Simply Love Books
Damn this was a good book! Dirty Player is a friends to lovers romance that was smart, funny, emotional, and hard to put down.
Julia and Greg became friends in high school, now 13 years later; she is a side-line NFL reporter and he’s a NHL hockey player and they keep in touch through texts, memes, and the occasional meet up or phone call. Over the years they shared their goals, their frustrations, and have been there for one another when life gets rough. With their ten year reunion coming up, Greg aims to get the kiss Julia promised him at their 10 year as long as they were both single. While Greg was hoping it would change things between them, Julia refuses to let anything happen because in her business optics are everything.
I adored the friendship between Greg and Julia; they were so much alike funny, intelligent, mature, and driven to succeed. Being together was magical, but Julia made it clear they had to keep it on the down low and while Greg agreed after awhile it wasn’t enough. There was a bit more angst in this book than I like and more than that and the reason it wasn’t 5 stars is once again we have a sports romance where they woman is penalized for having a boyfriend even if it’s only by her name being dragged through the mud on sports blogs and “news” outlets.
I loved Dirty Player; the characters had depth, their relationship was meant to be, and the ending perfection.
