She’s fallen for her own fantasy...will a real future with him be enough?
Bored by years of underwhelming dating experiences, copywriter Grace McGovern combines her love of Christmas and her longing for romance into the ultimate romance novel—where the heroine is swept off her feet one Christmas by tender, thoughtful, romantic...and utterly unrealistic dates. When Grace has a chance meeting with an attractive man, she’s charmed by their conversation and fun dates...until warning bells jingle. He couldn’t be taking cues from her book, could he?
Engineer Owen Ellis has always been more comfortable with computers and coding than with women. After claiming he was boring and unromantic, his last girlfriend’s bitter parting gift was a cheesy romance book hurled at his head. When he meets a woman whose warm smile and conversation intrigue him, Owen is ready to try again but knows he needs to up his game. What’s the harm in borrowing a few ideas?
Can the Christmas magic last forever, or will their relationship dissolve into another ho-hum holiday fling?
Twelve Dates of Christmas was one of those books that I read straight through; I was enjoying it so much I could not put it down, don’t miss this one! ~ Sharon – Simply Love Books
Twelve Dates of Christmas was a joy to read. I loved the way this couple met and the fact they were so completely opposite but that the hero was willing to go outside his comfort zone to spend more time with the heroine. A beautiful small town setting, wonderful descriptions of the dates and scenery, and interesting characters made this a wonderful feel-good Christmas romance.
Owen isn’t sure what to make of the woman who offers to help him find the gifts he needs for his nieces in the toy store, but she intrigues him like no other. Outgoing and not taking no for an answer from a somewhat disinterested sales clerk, Owen knows he wants to spend more time with Grace and asks if he can buy her a coffee or hot chocolate. That leads to good conversation, a bit of a mishap, and he is determined to do his best to keep her interest. Using a book his ex threw at him when she walked out citing he had no clue how to treat a woman, Owen begins a covert operation to win Grace over. What he doesn’t know is that book he’s using, she wrote it.
I loved everything about this book from their dates that didn’t always go smoothly, to the way they began to look forward to the time they spent together, to the fact that Grace realized she wasn’t the same person when she wrote that book and that people’s “love language” comes in all forms.
Owen was sweet and kind and although a bit clueless about dating, he really put himself out there and went out of his comfort zone a lot for Grace and in turn he realized what a small life he’d been leading.
This was one of those books that I read straight through; I was enjoying it so much I could not put it down, don’t miss the Twelve Dates of Christmas.
