A broken man finds a woman worth living for in the new novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink motorcycle club series.
Kir “Master” Vasiliev doesn’t care whether he lives or dies. He’s a burnt-out shell with no one and nothing but his club. Whatever Torpedo Ink needs, Master will put himself in harm’s way time after time. If he doesn’t make it back, he’s certain everyone will move on just fine.
Investment banker Ambrielle Moore knows her own mind, and she’s not willing to settle for anyone. So when a second-rate gangster and his thugs try to coerce her into marriage—and giving up all of her family’s money—she’s having none of it. Until they turn to cold-blooded murder.
Grieving and enraged, Ambrie is ready to go scorched earth on her captors when Master shows up anticipating a damsel in distress. But Ambrie is nothing like he expected, and everything he never knew he desired....
I have to hand it to the author because she beautifully crafted a love story between two damaged individuals, surrounding it with good and evil, friendship and family, and a little bit of humor. ~ Amanda – Simply Love Books
Recovery Road is the 8th installment in the Torpedo Ink series and became my favorite without a doubt. Like the others, a member of the MC, Kir “Master” Vasiliev is drawn to Ambrielle Moore when he sees her picture. They meet under extraordinary circumstances and then marry for the convenience of revenge and safety. Together they are seeking out those that murdered her parents and the one that is trying to kill the MC president’s family. Together they create a team that is backing and supporting one another when they both feel they’re alone in the world and at the end of their rope.
I have to hand it to the author because she beautifully crafted a love story between two damaged individuals, surrounding it with good and evil, friendship and family, and a little bit of humor. Master’s backstory is horrendous and the total opposite of Ambrielle’s. She had loving parents and taught her self-defense in order for her to protect herself out in the world. With Master she gets nothing sugar coated and commits 100% to making their marriage work. But the core of the story is about Master. He’s a man who feels he’s barely holding onto his humanity and sanity. He’s ready to end it and willing to risk his life for the safety of his club and his woman. He likes that Ambrielle wants him and will take anything she offers to feel that someone cares for him for once in his life. There are bumps along the way but in the end they both commit to each other for good.
I can’t say enough about this book and want to savor the story all over again from beginning to end. The author wrote a well-crafted who-done-it mystery, romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal for Master and Ambrielle in Recovery Road. Fans of Christine Feehan are going to love this latest edition.
