New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde returns to Twilight, Texas, with a delicious love story about a sexy cowboy and a love-shy nurse determined to win the Christmas Cookie Bake-off challenge.

He’s sexy, single, and he can bake!

Roan Sullivan is the answer to Jazzy Walker’s prayers. The doting single dad is also fresh off his win on a popular cooking show and a whiz at campfire cooking, so who better to help her win this year’s annual cookie bake-off? With his help, Jazzy is sure she can finally take first prize right out the grasping hands of Andi Browning, the gal who stole her fiancé right from under her nose.

A widower with a four-year-old daughter, Roan tells himself there’s a million reasons not to help Jazzy. She’s too kind, too optimistic, and could do so much better than hitching up with a curmudgeon like him. But every time she draws near, he can’t help but wonder if he could open his heart and love again.

As the holidays come closer, the magic of Twilight starts to weave its spell…and soon it’s not just the competition that’s heating up, it’s the hot sizzle between Roan and Jazzy.

The author has created another romantic story and for it to be around the Christmas season is icing on the cake. ~ Amanda – Simply Love Books

Whenever I get a chance to return to Twilight, Texas, I am ALL in. The Cowboy Cookie Challenge by Lori Wilde was such a wonderful read that I am still smiling from the enjoyment I got from it one day later. Jazzy Walker is a character we’ve met before when she was a young child in The First Love Cookie Club, and now she’s ready her love story. Jazzy is a pediatric nurse and has a competitive rivalry with her frenemy Andi Browning. Andi wins everything they compete in and to add insult to injury, just recently got engaged to her ex-boyfriend. Jazzy wants to win the Cookie Bake-Off badly and needs help to win. When she finds out that Roan Sullivan was a championship baker himself, she tries to recruit him to teach her his techniques but he’s not having it. Roan has become somewhat of a curmudgeon after the death of his wife, and blames baking for taking him away at a critical time in his life. It takes Jazzy’s persistence to get him to change his mind and maybe also have a change of heart.

I love second chance love romances because the characters open up their hearts again and the journey can be heart-wrenching. In the beginning their closed off and that they don’t consider the possibility of finding love again. Roan was a single dad raising his young daughter and had enough on his plate. Starting a relationship, even a rebound friendship, was too much to handle, plus he felt old being 10 years older. Jazzy however was upfront with Roan and made her intentions known that she was attracted to him. He reluctantly agrees but realizes how much he enjoys his time with Jazzy and that the attraction is mutual. There are bumps here and there but that is all par for the course and it all works out for everyone. I do love an epilogue at the end of a story and this one I wish would have been more of it. The author has created another romantic story and it to be around the Christmas season is icing on the cake. I never like to see a Twilight story end because it is such a romantic town and the legacy of true love sweethearts is always on people’s minds.
