"The heroes are as rugged and wild as the landscape."—MAISEY YATES, New York Times bestselling author, for Come Home to Deep River

Small town romance heads to the wilds of New Zealand in the first installment of a brand-new contemporary series by Jackie Ashenden.

  • He's hell-bent on telling her what to do.
  • She's determined to make it on her own.
  • They're both going to learn a thing or two about first impressions.

Brightwater Valley, New Zealand, is beautiful, rugged, and home to those who love adventure. But it's also isolated and on the verge of becoming a ghost town.

When the town puts out a call to its sister city of Deep River, Alaska, hoping to entice people to build homes and businesses in Brightwater, ex paratrooper Chase Kelly is all for it. He sees the benefits of building the economy, but only if those who come to Brightwater are ready for its challenges. Former oil executive Isabella Montgomery and her plan to open an art gallery don't seem up to the test. Now Chase is determined to help her learn the ways of his formidable hometown.

A beautiful story that drew me in from the beginning. Find Your Way Home lived up to the saying “Home is where the heart is.” ~ Kitty – Simply Love Books

I was really interested in reading and reviewing this book. Author Jackie Ashenden is a new-to-me author and it looked like a fascinating read. I am thrilled that I got to read Find Your Way Home. Not only was it interesting and informative but, the story line actually drew you in. The descriptions of New Zealand were compelling to the point that I could actually see and feel what was being described. The characters were all different and opposites attracting was a major theme of the story.

Chase was really grumpy throughout most of this story. He had everyone baffled since he was normally easy-going, relaxed and easy to get along with. It seems that they only thing that changed was one Isabella Montgomery stepping into his space. Now, nothing seems to be going the way he wanted. Isabella went to Brightwater Valley on a whim. Her life was falling apart and she just needed a clean break. Too bad she didn’t plan a little bit better for the trip or for her reaction to one Chase Kelly. She adapted and tried to fight the growing attraction to Chase. He was making it extremely easy until he wasn’t. Now, she feels like a dirty little secret. Even though everyone knows or suspects.

Now, throw in the complication of Gus and a batch of cupcakes and life gets extremely difficult for the two people who swore off love, who swore it was just casual, and now swore that they would never leave Brightwater.

I loved this romance. It was bitter and sweet at the same time. Chase had issues that he just needed to let go, a wall that needed knocking down. Izzy needed her life to change, to stand on her own two feet and to feel wanted and loved. Together they learned that home definitely was where the heart was.

About Jackie Ashenden

Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart – writing romance. She particularly likes to write dark, emotional stories with alpha heroes who’ve just got the world to their liking only to have it blown wide apart by their kick-ass heroines.

She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband, the inimitable Dr Jax and two kids. When she’s not torturing alpha males and their gutsy heroines, she can be found drinking chocolate martinis, reading anything she can lay her hands on, wasting time on social media, or being forced to go mountain biking with her husband.
