Gideon Holiday is the perfect neighbor. Need a cup of sugar? Spare folding chair? Extra batteries? He’s always ready to help. And he’s waited years for his hot, grumpy, silver fox neighbor, Paul, to need him. For anything. But this December, Gideon would be happy if he could just get the Scrooge-like Paul on board with the neighborhood holiday lights fundraiser.

Paul Frost has no intention of decking his halls or blazing any Yule logs. Even if his spunky bowtie-clad neighbor does look perfect for unwrapping, Paul would prefer to hide away until December is done. But when his beloved younger brother announces an unexpected visit, Paul needs all the trimmings for a festive homecoming—and fast.

Luckily, Gideon is there with a color-coded plan to save Christmas. Soon Paul’s hanging lights, trimming trees, and rolling out cookies. And steaming up his new flannel sheets with Gideon. How did that happen?

It’ll take some winter magic to preserve their happiness and keep these rival neighbors together longer than one holiday season.

The Geek Who Saved Christmas is a low-angst m/m holiday romance with a guaranteed happy ending. This grumpy/sunshine, neighbors-to-lovers, found family tale features two heroes in their forties figuring out that maybe their sexily-ever-after was right next door the whole time. It stands alone and is not connected to any of the author’s other universes. However, it does contain a heaping helping of the same emotions and steamy moments readers have come to expect!

The Geek Who Saved Christmas was a fantastic slow burn holiday romance between neighbors who really didn’t know one another very well. One is all about Christmas and one a bit of a Scrooge they wind up working closely to put together a Christmas to remember when family announces they plan to come for a visit. I loved every sweet, funny, and sexy moment of this story as these two men slowly share so much while preparing for a holiday to remember.

I have always appreciated how well author Annabeth Albert lets the reader see all facets of her characters, the way she slowly peels back their layers throughout the story unveiling them slowly while the characters get to know one another. It is this that keeps me riveted as I read one of her books and this one was no different.

Gideon is Mr. Christmas; he goes all out with his decorations indoors and out and takes pride in heading up the neighborhood decorating committee so it pains him to no end that his hot silver-fox neighbor Paul has no holiday spirit. Not one light, not a wreath, not a tree in the window. So when Paul’s younger brother wants to spend Christmas with him and his house has little furniture and he has no decorations he asks Gideon for help and soon Paul is up at the crack of dawn to go to the Christmas warehouse, putting up lights, painting rooms, picking up furniture Gideon found for him, going all in and realizing how much fuller is life is when Gideon is around.

I loved these two together they were different enough to make things interesting, but alike enough to enjoy the simple things like shared meals and nights in.  There was a bit of angst as neither one was good at communicating their feelings, but with some insight from outside sources they both see things more clearly.

The Geek Who Saved Christmas was a wonderful holiday romance covered in twinkle lights and wrapped in a perfect package.
