I could never trust a vampire. Ever. It wasn’t enough that vampires killed my parents and left me for dead. Nope, they also left me with this searing fear of every one of their kind. But when someone I care about grows sick from poison, I have no choice but to infiltrate a Romanian castle filled with pissy, evil vampires in search of the antidote.
And my only saving grace is that for some reason, I can do things other humans can’t.
Unfortunately, I also seem to be the perfect bait for the Vampire King, Kai Elias. More than seven feet of dark, wicked charisma, ancient eyes, and a body that holds more power and raw, animal sexuality than I can resist. But there’s something about Elias that looks painfully, terrifyingly familiar.
Now I am in over my head and my heart. And my only choice is to trust this dark, charismatic creature...or die.
I so enjoy reading Mary Hughes. Her characters are fun yet serious. She knows just when you need a little laugh to ease up on some of the tension in the story. And, she definitely knows how to write a story filled with love and happiness. ~ Kitty – Simply Love Book Reviews
Wow, Mary Hughes gave us every twist and turn that you could possibly imagine. But she also put in our little life lessons along the way which is what always makes me want to read a Mary Hughes book … what lessons is she teaching us this time? Trust, instincts, and vulnerability. But what truly made me happy was this was Kai Elias’ HEA.
I loved watching Elias and Rey fall in love. As they started to trust each other and their instincts, their love grew … even though they both tried to deny it. But it would take an enemy from the past to make them both see what they were missing, who the Shadow Lord really was and why he was trying to wreck destruction on the Ancients and Vampire community. In the end, with a little help of all our Meier’s Corners favorites, the truth was revealed and good overcame evil.
I was a little surprised with the ending, the accolades for our Kai Elias. Is this the end of our visits to Meier’s Corners or will Mary be gracing us with more characters and more stories set in this wonderful fictional town? Ani maybe?
I so enjoy reading Mary Hughes. Her characters are fun yet serious. She knows just when you need a little laugh to ease up on some of the tension in the story. And, she definitely knows how to write a story filled with love and happiness. Like I said in the beginning though, what I most look forward to are her life lessons. There was a big trust issue in Night’s Bliss along with both main characters having low self-esteem and Mary Hughes showed them that second-chances and trusting their instincts could bring them happiness beyond their wildest dreams.
