I found The Cowboy Says I Do to be a cute read filled with shenanigans that helped me escape reality for a bit. ~ Paige Turner – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Newly elected mayor, Lacey Cherish, ran for office to redeem the family name after her father had to resign for un-mayorly like conduct. But if she wants to salvage her family’s reputation, along with the town’s economy, she’ll need to think fast. With few options at hand, she starts to rebrand Idont as Ido, as the most romantic place in Texas to tie the knot.

Lacey’s grand plans have just made Deputy Sheriff Bodie Phillips’s life a whole lot harder. He’s got bigger problems than helping the mayor bring in brides. Like figuring out why his dad and grandfather mysteriously shut down the family business, and who’s abandoning dogs within the town limits.

When Lacey’s chance at getting major publicity for Ido’s first wedding is jeopardized, she’s forced to rely on Bodie for help. But as their attraction heats up, they both have to decide how far they’re willing to go to revive the town and their families’ honor.

This is the first time I’ve read anything by Dylann Crush. I liked the concept and thought the author did a good job bringing Lacey and Brodie, the two main characters, together.

Lacey is a happy-go-lucky, go getter. Despite whatever negativity came her way, she didn’t let anything bring her down. Her sunny disposition helped carry the story.

I really liked Brodie. He was sweet on Lacey, his best friends little sister. She asked and he did her bidding. While their relationship was supposed to be fake the couldn’t deny their feelings. That was evident from the start.

The story did keep me entertained but there were a lot of different storylines involved. Perhaps with a little less it could have been more. After a lot of work they finally found their HEA.

Guilty Pleasures is happy to have author Dylann Crush, author of The Cowboy Says I Do share 5 interesting facts about herself!

For someone who loves to write, I really don’t like writing about myself. I’d much rather write about fictional characters. It’s so much easier making up their truths and turning them inside out for readers to explore than having to share insights into the inner workings of me. They’re so much more interesting! But since I was challenged to share five facts about myself, I figured I’d do my best.

#1 – I can do the splits. It’s my most unnatural talent. I call it unnatural because really, it’s kind of freakish that I can still manage them. I have to give my high school drill team coach credit for my mastery of this feat. When I found out the team would be traveling to Ireland my junior year of high school (and you had to be able to do the splits to make the team) I focused on mastering the talent of spreading my legs. And I guess I haven’t stopped since! 😉

#2 – If I could only eat one kind of food for the rest of my life it would be Mexican food, hands down. And I’m not super picky. I love it all… authentic Mexican dishes, Tex-Mex with tons of cumin, and the more cilantro, the better. Bring on the jalapeños. As long as there’s a pitcher of fresh-made margaritas (not that bottled stuff you just add tequila to) to wash it down. Mmm!

#3 – My parents owned a haunted house. Thankfully, it was long after I was out on my own, so I never actually lived there. But lots of people slept there since they turned it into a bed and breakfast and hosted guests for several years. The house had major history, including being a funeral home for a few decades. We had several odd experiences there, and I definitely believe in ghosts.

#4 – I make a soundtrack for every book I write. Music totally gets me in the mood to work on whatever I’m writing. For The Cowboy Says I Do, I used a mix of country, pop, and classics. There’s something about listening to the same tracks over and over again that almost puts me into some sort of zen state when I sit down to write. If you want to see what’s on my playlist, just visit

#5 – I can’t roll my ‘r’s. Everyone else in my family can do it, and they mock me about it all the time. My son even tried to walk me through it, step-by-step, on multiple occasions. I don’t know if I just have a big, uncooperative tongue or if I’m missing some special secret rolling ‘r’ gene that skipped over me and got passed onto my siblings instead. Sometimes it makes me sad. But then I just do the splits. Since no one else in my family can do them, that always makes me feel better (and sometimes a little sore!)
