Gotta love these HOT Firefighters! ~ Jennifer – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Synopsis:

Relationships. Firefighter Rafe Donovan avoids them whenever possible. He loves dating women, but he makes sure they know up front that he’s in it for fun, great sex and nothing more.

Fun. As an ER nurse and official caretaker of her disabled grandfather, Carmen Lewis doesn’t have time for fun. But Rafe has been there for Carmen–and her grandfather–time and again, and he’s clearly interested in her. She knows he’s a player, but she’s tempted by his charm and incredible body. And maybe a little fun isn’t a bad thing, as long as she keeps her heart away from this fiery game she’s enjoying with a very hot man.

Love. It doesn’t take Rafe long to realize that until now he’s only been playing at romance. With Carmen he feels searing passion and heart-tugging emotion for the first time. Now he has to convince Carmen that what they have together is the real deal.

Well, Jaci Burton again made my day with Ignite On Contact. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Rafe fall in love with Carmen. What a wonderful couple they were!

Carmen is kind, giving and thoroughly devoted to her grandfather. Or is she just using him as an excuse to hide away from life, from men. After a disastrous marriage, she’s not sure if she can ever trust a man again. Why date then? But, after much cajoling from Rafe, she agrees to dinner. But, not as a date, as a thank you. Rafe will take what he can get with hopes that it will lead to more.

Rafe is a ladies man. He knows it, his brothers know it, everyone at the firehouse knows it. But, there is something really special about Carmen. If she lets herself, she can be fun and he’s up to showing her just what fun having fun could be. He’s doing a good job of it until one fateful night and it all implodes. Now, it’s time to show her just what she means to him.

I love that all the brothers are involved in the story. They all play a part in each other’s lives and are there for each other no matter the circumstances. I love how they all rally around each other during times of need but are also there to give you a good ribbing when things are good. And, believe me, they didn’t want Rafe messing this up. They would lose more than Rafe’s girlfriend … they could lose their neighbor, her wonderful cooking and great friendships. I also loved Jimmy … he was funny, heart-warming, could see right through Carmen. And, he was Rafe’s biggest cheerleader getting Carmen to see that the boy next door just may be the boy for her. Filled with honesty, humor, family and love, Jaci Burton really turned up the heat in Ignite on Contact.

This was a really great story about two people that aren’t looking for love, but have no choice when it hits them. Carmen is a dedicated nurse that has been burned in the past and has decided that she isn’t looking for romance in her already busy life. Bachelor Rafe is always looking for a good time. He is attracted to his gorgeous neighbor Carmen and convinces her to go out with him. These two were smoking hot and tried their hardest not to get attached, but like magnets, their attraction draws them together. No matter what blocks they try they can’t stay away.
