Synopsis:
Isaak “Ice” Koval is on a club mission when he sees a woman who stops him dead in his tracks. Soleil is a sweet, sexy, girl-next-door type. She’s an innocent who should be nowhere near the rough-and-ready world of the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club. But Ice knows Soleil belongs with him—and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.
After a life of drifting from one thing to the next, Soleil Brodeur is determined to take control of her life. When her breakup with her manipulative fiancé turns ugly, Soleil searches out the stranger who offered her a lifeline and ends up in a Las Vegas biker bar where she meets a gorgeous, dangerous man straight out of her most secret fantasies.
High on adrenaline, she finds herself falling faster than she thought possible. But Soleil knows little about the territory she’s stumbled into, and even less about what it really means to be Ice’s woman.…
So I didn’t read the first two books in this series so I wasn’t prepared for what went down in this book. Surprised is a good word. Intrigued is an even better one. Ice was just what his name says. And, Soleil is the sunshine that is needed to melt through the glacier surrounding his heart.
My heart broke for Ice, for his upbringing and what he went through to survive. You understood why he was like he was, why he didn’t feel worthy of a woman like Soleil and why he just didn’t want her but needed her in his life, in his arms, in his bed. His family is Torpedo Ink and he will do whatever it takes for them. Soleil needs to understand that being with him makes her part of the family – no matter what.
Soleil always dreamed of being part of a family, of having someone who unconditionally loved her for her and not her money. Running from a bad relationship, she runs into a woman that throws her a lifeline that she had no idea would change her life. Being hunted down by men who wants her dead, she turns to that stranger and finds Ice instead. She wants just one night with him to live out her fantasies. She had no idea that he plays for keeps and he’s had his sights set on her from the minute she walked into the bar. Now, she’s part of a family but has no idea about the life that she’s now expected to lead. Her money doesn’t matter … just making Ice happy matters.
I feel this book needs to come with a warning about the brutality and sex. There is a lot of both throughout this story. From exhibitionism to pure erotica … this story has it all. But, you understand why. As for the brutality … yea, there’s a lot of blood and guts spilled. But, again, you understand why. It all makes sense as to why when you find out what exactly they are up to. It may be brutal but it isn’t uncalled for.
Christine Feehan drew me into this story and had me turning page after page just waiting to see how she would handle the next situation. She wrote strong, caring characters and a story line that just didn’t stop. Filled with undying love, broken characters that need the other to complete them and a story that will make you cry, bleed and smile, Vendetta Road is a compelling and intriguing story.

I would have to say that Vendetta Road is one gritty, violent and sex-filled story I have ever read. In retrospect I understand why it was so abundant since the hero of the story was trained to seduce and conquer with sex and exhibitionism. The author has created a group of men and women that were trained to be assassins and have unique talents to get close to their prey. Out on a mission for Torpedo Inc MC, Isaak “Ice” Koval stopped dead in his tracks when he sees a woman that electrifies his senses and wakes him up from his dead life. Ice has been on the edge for some time and was close to ending it when he saw Soleil crossing the street. When she walks into the biker bar later that day, he is delighted she’s here and will do whatever he can to make her his.
Soleil was escaping an abusive relationship and sought out help from a stranger when she encountered the Torpedo Ink bikers in the bar. She is attracted to Ice who makes her feel special and wanted. She’s a poor little rich girl who has money but no family. She goes with the flow and plans to seduce this man in order to have it all for just one night. The seduction was slow and sensual. Before she knows it, she’s married and running with Ice back to Caspar. Unfortunately, trouble followed her and the men and women of Torpedo Inc protect what’s theirs.
Looking back at the story I try to put all the sex in perspective with the characters in the book. Both Ice and Soleil were needy individuals for different reasons. Ice started to feel human again since he met Soleil and he wanted to keep her for himself selfishly. Never thought beyond the fact that he was physically attracted and used sex to get his way. He’d hope to keep it superficial but that didn’t work out the way he thought it would. Soleil just wanted to belong. Her lack of home and family made Ice and his biker friends very attractive. He offered her everything she always wanted. If sex was what he wanted she was willing and ready. They both had healthy sexual appetites and it was evident for the first 1/3 of the book. It wasn’t until danger forced them to put some effort into their relationship if they had any chance of both getting what they both desired. Once I completed the story I had a better understanding. But while I was reading it, I began to wonder where this story was going. The plot was a bit muddled but eventually got on track and you can see why it was called Vendetta Road. It wasn’t my favorite in the series but the methods of tracking down and killing the con artists/pedophiles was gruesome and justified.
