Vivian Arend takes The Thompson & Sons series out on a very, very high note. Each of the Thompson brothers dealt with their mother’s death and their father’s grief differently making the way they approach women and a relationship unique making for a very interesting series, but Troy the youngest of the bunch is way more than the lackadaisical man everyone seems to think he is including his own family and only one woman sees through that exterior his best friend’s sister and the woman he’s had a friend’s with benefits relationship with for the last six months. Fun, emotional, but sexy beyond belief let Vivian Arend take you on A Wild Ride!
At the start of this book, I really wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get past the way Nicole treated Troy when in all honest he hadn’t done anything wrong. While I understand what she wanted out of life changed, the way she handled Troy was kind of mean given their long standing friendship. However, I appreciated that her decisions made Troy take a look at his life and what he wanted in his future and also made him very aware of how much he enjoyed the time he spent with Nicole and what they had was special.
This book was fun as Troy worked to prove to Nicole that she needed more in her life than the boring men she chose to date and that he was the best one for her. It might have taken his a little while to figure that out, but watching him work to convince her was completely entertaining. I loved that the more time she spent with Troy (outside of bed) the more she began to realize how truly special he was and how much he held his family together over the years. Troy’s reputation made it difficult for her family to accept their relationship and to be honest his family wasn’t much better, but Nicole’s belief in him was paramount.
