Wicked Beat is sadly the last release in Olivia Cunning’s Sinners on Tour series. Eric Sticks is fun, sweet, and full of pranks. Rebekah is a little insecure, but a wonderfully loving character.

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but Wicked Beat is chronologically the 4th title in the series, but the final release. Double Time was released by the publisher out of sequence, and should be read AFTER Wicked Beat. I struggled with this. I reviewed Double Time last fall, and loved the book, couldn’t wait to get my hands on it… but I know I would have enjoyed Wicked Beat more if I hadn’t read Double Time. I struggled with several scenes in Wicked Beat because of Trey. In my head he’d already had his HEA…so his typical antics, were not as enjoyable for me as I know they would have been. This isn’t Olivia’s fault I won’t throw her under the review bus because of it. But as a reader, I’m screaming to you… read Double Time LAST. (I’m so sorry your publisher did this Olivia!!).

I loved getting to know Eric. He’s funny, he’s sweet, he’s romantic, but he’s not smooth. He’s so not a Trey Mills kind of lover. He’s unsure of himself, his body, even his renowned musical talent—he’s somewhat oblivious. But my favorite thing about Eric Sticks, is he was flawed in a way I’d never read, and that certainly wasn’t your typical ‘rock star’ hero. Rebekah is exactly the kind of woman Eric needed. She’s honest, and she’s accepting of all his little quirks. Even his grade school styled pranks.

There were some pieces to this story I got annoyed with, but they worked themselves out. It’s really unusual for that to happen. Without going into spoilers, I found a few of the secondary characters way too cliched, especially Rebekah’s mother. However, I feel Olivia dealt with this in the story and in the end it did make more sense. So, even though it bugged me when I was reading, I felt it was reconciled for me in a way that didn’t spoil the story.

All in all, a great addition to the series, I know die hard Sinners fans will love Eric as much as I did. Now that I’m done with this series, I’m surprised to say, my Sinners book boyfriend, will forever be Jace Seymour. And Trey. And Brian. And Eric. Sed is big freaking jerk… but he’s still hot. So Olivia!!! Where are we headed from here? Please tell me there’s a Dare in there somewhere? ~Ava
