Cataclysm Blues was another winner by Cari Silverwood. A short story that was filled with loads of emotion and lots of love.

Rose has been entrusted by the Badlands to keep the peace in Rusty Rattlesnake, stop any escapees from the Badlands and stop any hellsewn from getting in. While trying to figure out exactly what Turpitt is up to, a hot, alpha male rides in and stirs up all kinds of feelings in her.

Talon is a true alpha male. He rides into town on his motorcycle heading to the Badlands to rescue his brother and spots Rose immediately. After overtaking her and pushing her up against the back wall (yea, baby) he lets her know that he knows what Turpitt is up to but, she’ll only get the information on his terms. And, what terms they are!

So, does Rose give in and get the information? Does Talon ride away never to look back? What was Trupitt up to? What will Rose do when she learns what and who she really is? We do find out some of the information but not enough.

Ms. Silverwood keeps us hanging on this one. It’s soft Steampunk and we could only hope that she decides to keep it going and bring us some hard Steampunk. A lot of questions are left unanswered so we could only hope that she is going to continue on with the story. But, in true Silverwood fashion, the book was very well written and had a storyline that grabbed you from the start and didn’t let go. Hell, I was disappointed that it ended!
