As much as I read, I have to venture out and read other genres or I get bored quick.  I am a huge fan of Lauren Dane so when I saw she had a new book coming out I wanted to read it.  Thing was, it was part of a series, and being the anal person I am about reading books in order, of course I downloaded the first of the series to my Kindle.  Undercover is the first in the series of Federation Chronicles and was different than anything I’ve read before, maybe because I’ve only read a few futuristic books, but I enjoyed it and was very interested in the “Verse world she has created.   What I really liked about it was the fact I didn’t get lost in all the terms while Ms. Dane set up her world of multiple Universes, Federations, Family, impending war, and hierarchy.  By the end of the book, I was  thrilled the second one was already written so I could start it immediately.  

The characters are high ranking undercover agents for the military and are working together to uncover individuals of treason to their “Verse.  The first scene in the book was intense and I knew right off the bat we were in for an intense story.  The action and suspense help move the story at a nice pace as well.  Sera, Ash, and Brandt have Alpha personalities but Sera likes to submit in the bedroom.  Sera and Ash have a painful history, but as Brandt steps in to play peacekeeper he starts to fall for Sera as well.  All three of them are very protective and committed to each other, and I completely forgot what a freakin’ hot sex scene Ms. Dane could write.  She is a master at it and if you like to read erotic romance with an abundance of sex, you will not be disappointed.  There is some BDSM with M/M, M/F/M, and M/F scenes that burn up the pages.  There is a good bit of emotion in the book, especially when it comes to the building ménage relationship.   The character development while the three of them worked through it was written well. 
I‘m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

    Eileen-I’ve just finished the 2nd one and I LOVED it, and started the 3rd and am LOVING it too. I think each one gets better.

    I’ve read and enjoyed Lauren’s Brown Siblings and Chase Brothers series. Her Federation series aounds like something I would enjoy – thanks for the great review!
