Once and Again (Petal, Georgia #1)

WHAT’S THIS BOOK ABOUT: Seven years ago, Lily Travis was only too glad to see her hometown of Petal, Georgia in her rearview mirror. Thanks to her father running off with a twenty-year-old, though, here she is, trying to pick up the pieces. First order of business: meet with her brother’s teacher in a quest to pull his grades out of a downward spiral.
Nathan Murphy is pretty much resigned to his bachelor status—until he looks up from his desk to see an all-grown-up Lily walking into his classroom. Of all the women who turned out to be totally wrong for him, she’s the only one who felt right. At least until his foolish, immature mistake drove her away.

Lily has to admit that time has been more than kind to gorgeous, sexy Nathan. Except there’s no room on her full plate for another complication. Especially with a man who broke her heart once before.

With a little help from his friends, Nathan has a plan to rekindle the flame. It isn’t long before they’re burning up the sheets. Winning her heart? That’s another matter.

KurvyK’s review: When I found out Lauren Dane was doing a spin-off of the Chase Brother’s series, set in and named Petal, Georgia, August 30th could not get here soon enough. I fell in love with this little southern town that seems to grow swoon-worthy, alpha males in ample supply. For all of you Chase Brother groupies, like me, one of the many reason you will love this book is because Mz. Dane has brought them back and we see a glimpse of them, their wives and children, not to mention my favorite, Ms. Polly.

This story revolves around Nathan, Tate’s brother, and Lily and proves that good-hearted people who have learned from their mistakes deserve a second chance. They are a perfect match for each other, and since she’s been hurt by him in the past they do have a lot to overcome but Nathan is one truly alpha male who knows what he wants and will not give up until he gets it. Poor Lily doesn’t stand a chance once the Murphys and the Chases get involved to help Nathan win her over. This is one of those books where I really liked the guy and the girl, something that doesn’t happen very often. It is a short book, but the story is there so it works. The sex is HAWT and will have you drooling with all the sexy talk. I LOVED it and I hope you will too!

  1. I haven’t read the Chase Brothers Books yet but I’ve got the new one (Once and Again) already when it came out (yay for sales discount @ Samhain).
Should I read the Chase Brothers first? Then I’ll have to move it up on my TBR pile. 🙂

  2. Hi Cordykitten, I haven’t read it yet, but I asked KurvyK and she said you don’t have to read the Chase Brothers first, but that the secondary characters in the Petal books have more meaning if you do =)
