Visit Maya |
Excerpt:
“Have we met?”
But selective amnesia after a crash has Rafael puzzled. How could he ever forget a combustible beauty like Bryony? Solution: return to the island where they met, and relive the unforgettable nights in question—until he remembers everything…
As a result of an accident Rafael has amnesia and can’t remember the four week time period before the accident. Rafael sees Bryony at a party, she only catches his eye because she is glaring at him, she’s not his type so he has no idea why she would be staring a hole through him. Bryony met and fell in love with Rafael when he visited the island she lives on. When he left he told her he would be back soon, he never returned, four months later she travels to NYC to confront him over broken promises and oh yeah, he’s going to be a daddy.
At first I was worried this would be a typical amnesia story…but it wasn’t typical, because Maya puts a twist in there. I can’t give too much detail because it would spoil the story. What I can say is Rafael is a sexy, possessive man (even though he doesn’t remember her, something about her makes him become possessive), Rafe is also a self-centered, do what ever it takes to win, take no prisoners man. Bryony is a strong, yet vulnerable woman, she has no problem fighting Rafael or walking away from him even though she loves him, she will not settle for scraps of his attention.
I really enjoyed Rafael and Bryony’s story, I loved the interaction with the rest of Rafe’s business partners/long time friends, Ryan, Dev and Cam. I have to say I’m already in love with Ryan =)
The rest of the Pregnancy and Passion Series will be released:
Wanted by Her Lost Lover ~ Ryan’s story ~ November 2011
Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss and Undone by her Tender Touch ~ Spring 2012 ~ (will be Cam and Dev’s stories, not sure which one is which)
I have Harlequin authors on my auto-buy list. I agree that even though the style is different, you can always it’s tell a Maya Banks book! I like series romance since I sometimes need a break from my more erotic reading choices!
Angie, I so agree…I saw a review on goodreads for this book where the person said…this doesn’t measure up to Maya’s non Desire books…that was a TRUE WTF review for me…I wanted to comment..YOU CAN’T COMPARE the two DUMBASS, it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Maya’s stories are all great. I like the Harlequin series because like you, it is a nice break from all the erotic romances I get caught up in.
Thanks so much for continuing to follow WTFbr =)
